Who was Ignacy Jan Paderewski?

Apart from being a celebrity classical pianist and composer, Paderewski was an eminent statesman, who had a hand in deciding the fate of Europe, particularly during the tumultuous years before and after the First World War.

The event will begin with a greeting from Martin Skarzynski, the President of Polish Student Association of Washington, D.C. Mr. Skarzynski will introduce General Edward L. Rowny, who returned Paderewski’s remains to his native Poland on the fifty-first anniversary of his death. General Rowny will then introduce the main speaker, Mr. Robilette, a world-class pianist and an expert on the life and works of Ignacy Jan Paderewski. Mr. Robilette’s talk will be followed by a question and answer session and a reception with refreshments.
